1999 Highlights

The Central Area Community Festival hosted its 1999 festival at the Garfield Community Center. With the assistance of our sponsors and supporters this three day event was a success. Those who attended enjoyed the family atmosphere that gave way to fun, excitement and thousands of smiles on the faces of children.

This event would not have been possible if it were not for the sponsors, supporters and volunteers. We believe that with this continued support the Central Area Community Festival will continue to grow and be embraced by its community and the city of Seattle.

"Nominated for two KEPA awards"

The Central Area Community Festival was selected as a finalist in the 5th annual King County Producers Awards which is produced by the Sports & Events Council of Seattle/King County. Seven distinguished local and national judges were selected to judge entries from King County. The judges selected CACF as one of the leading entries in two specific categories: Best Ethnic Community Festival and Best Volunteer Managed Event.

The KEPA awards dinner was held on March 1, 2000 at the Paramount Theatre. The Central Area Community Festival staff along with representatives from the sponsors who supported the festival was present at the CACF table. CACF is delighted to have this opportunity to acknowledge and recognize the efforts of the staff, volunteers, supporters and sponsors. We realize that this event is a community effort and that it would not have been possible without the Central Area community.

The highlight of the night was when "The Central Area Community Festival" was awarded the trophy for the Best Ethnic Community Festival of 1999.
